Program Definition:
Architectural Engineering (AE) focuses on the design, integration and coordination of building engineering systems, including structural systems; heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems; acoustical systems; and lighting and electrical systems. The University of Nebraska AE program is part of the Charles W. Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction. It is offered on the Omaha campus in the Peter Kiewit Institute Building.
Points of Excellence:
- Demand for architectural engineering graduates is very high,
because there are only 15 programs in the country, while there
are thousands of architectural engineering design firms
- One of the top architectural engineering programs in the country
- A five-year program leading to a Bachelor's of Science and a
Master of Architectural Engineering degree
- Many internship opportunities with Nebraska's concentration of architectural engineering design firms, including three of the country's largest firms
